Located in the central North Island of New Zealand, just a five-minute drive from Hamilton City, the Waikato Aero Club has been providing flight training and aerial services to the Waikato since 1933. Great Barrier Lodge

We have a fully equipped lodge on Great Barrier Island available for members to use and available for hire. Contact the office for details and conditions.

The lodge sleeps up to 18 people and has a full kitchen, BBQ, two bathroom/shower/toilet as well as a third separate toilet.

Electricity is courtesy of solar panels plus a back-up diesel generator

National Championships 2014


The Waikato Aero Club team enjoyed success in the 2014 National Championships at Tauranga gaining a first, a second, and a third placing

Connor Adams was awarded a $2,500 Ross Macpherson Memorial Flying Scholarship as part of the Young Eagles programme.
