Flying NZNational Championships 2012The Waikato Aero Club team enjoyed considerable success in the 2012 National Championships at North Shore aerodrome, with three of the team gaining first place in their events. Bailey Nepe - Jean Batten trophy for Preflight Inspection, Circuits and Spot Landings Graeme Milne - Sir Francis Boys trophy for Senior Circuits and Spot Landings Evan Yates - Aero Engine Services Ltd. trophy for Basic Aerobatics. Thomas Davis was awarded a $2,000 Ross Macpherson Memorial Flying Scholarship as part of the Young Eagles programme. Jim Williamson also placed third in the Student Manoeuvres competition
